is love?
I was listening to a new song on the radio
and the singer sang that love is all we need to know
so I tapped my feet till the tune was done
then the DJ said the war had just begun
all fall in line - dance to the marching drum
is
love
all we need?
is it everything
they’re saying?
is love
something
more
than the
latest song we’re playing?
if it’s
true
then it’s
time we played from the heart
yes it’s
time we practiced the art
we can clap
and sing
but does
it really mean anything
to say that
all we need is love?
I was playing Beatles music in an empty bar
like a madman fighting gravity with my guitar
when the towers fell I was lost in song
now I search myself to find which note went wrong
it slipped through my hands like smoke from a warm gun
is
love
all we need?
is it everything
they’re saying?
is love
something
more
than that
good old song we’re playing?
if it’s
true
then it’s
time we played from the heart
yes it’s
time we practiced the art
there’s
so much to say
but we just
keep talking our lives away
is
love
all we need?
is it everything
they’re saying?
is love
something
real?
is it worth
the price we’re paying?
if it’s
true
then it’s
time we made up our minds
not to waste
our breath spinning rhymes
spouting
grand cliches
for it doesn’t
really mean anything to say
that all
we need is love.
